Hi there, I am Meeyong Rao, and this is my blog, where I chronicle my adventures and thoughts as an experienced market researcher and a newbie usability researcher. I like to write about survey bloopers, flawed market research journalism, and also great examples and ideas.
Originally from Michigan, I received an MPA degree from Cornell in 2006 and worked for the Government Accountability Office and Gallup in Washington DC for a few years. I then worked as a Consumer Insights Manager at International Game Technology in Las Vegas.
I’m currently based in Seattle along with my husband, Venkatesh Rao, who is a blogger at www.ribbonfarm.com. In June 2014, I completed a certificate in User-Centered Design from the University of Washington and am thinking about how to bridge the gap between the two worlds of market research and usability. I’m available for gigs and particularly interested in ones that have elements of both UX and market research. You can view my LinkedIn profile here.
