Hi there, I’m Meeyong Rao, and this is my blog, where I chronicle my adventures and thoughts as an experienced market researcher. My intent is to help folks who are new to the field. I write about about survey bloopers, flawed market research journalism, and also great examples and ideas. I use real-life examples to show that even seasoned market researchers can make mistakes. I hope this makes your first survey writing experience less daunting. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
Originally from Michigan, I received an MPA degree from Cornell University in 2006 and worked for the Government Accountability Office and Gallup in Washington DC for a few years. I then worked as a Consumer Insights Manager at International Game Technology in Las Vegas. For the past few years, I’ve been an independent consultant focusing on survey research and customer analytics.
I’m currently based in Seattle. I’m available for gigs, you can view my LinkedIn profile here.
